In Berlin, the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic seemed far away. People were joking about it, rather than taking it seriously. On the 14th of March, the Berlin Senate decided to close all bars and clubs in the city. Still, people went to the few bars that remained open on this day. They wanted to have a last drink, before everything closed down. The next day, the city that hardly sleeps seemed empty. Walking through the streets in the evening reminded one of time before the fall of the wall. The streets were suddenly empty. Just occasionally, you would encounter someone walking his dog. From the beginning of the pandemic in Berlin, I started to photograph my neighborhood and how the pandemic is affecting the street life at night.
