“APRIL 5, 2020”

by Michael Barkin from Seattle, WA

The social distancing has been fairly effective for flattening the curve of coronavirus infections in Washington State, as of April 5, 2020, according to Governor Inslee and other state officials. The global economic ramifications, however, may be felt for many months, if not years. The impact of suspended services may also have a detrimental effect on health care for those living on the margins of society, if mental health professionals and other social service providers are not able to conduct outreach soon. The fact that not all states have been as proactive as Washington suggests that the coronavirus pandemic will spread in waves through the US. Citizens will need to continue to remain vigilant.”
